Terry Winters @ Matthew Marks

One of the best panting show I’ve seen in years was Terry Winters’s Point Cloud show at Matthew Marks in 2024. Whenever I’m stuck in my own work I go back to Winters and his writing about abstraction, nature, and his “visualized geometry.”

Of his point cloud work, Winters says: “The forms suggest the collective behavior of animals, such as the murmuration of starlings and the schooling of fish.”
